  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets Ensure cut into small pieces for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can substitute with another cheese type if desired.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Gluten-free breadcrumbs can be used as a substitute.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg Works as a binder for the mixture.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adjust to taste, add red pepper flakes for extra kick.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the broccoli florets, shredded cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix everything until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into small balls or patties, depending on your preference.
Cooking
  1. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the broccoli cheddar poppers in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  2. Air fry for approximately 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  3. Once done, remove the poppers and serve warm, either as a snack or a side dish.

Notes

For best results, do not overcook the broccoli before mixing. Adjust seasoning as desired. Consider pairing with a dipping sauce like marinara or ranch.
